"On the occasion of rakhi"
From tushar
So, this book,a hard bound edition was gifted by myself to my sister[ she gifted it back to my collection] On the occasion of rakhi.I never read much secret seven, but the whole feel of the book, encouraged me to gift it to her. The book is Enid Blyton's Three cheers,Secret seven.

Genre - fiction, children books[ well, adults can read it too],adventure

Age factor- Anyone and everyone who knows how to read English. Ideal for children between,8 to 16 years of age.But those who have caught up reading late in your life ,or are not so voracious readers,or find adult books a little complex to read
even if you are a adult, grab it.

The book
The Secret Seven consists of Peter, Janet , Jack, Barbara, George, Pam, Colin, and Scamper.
This revolves around a model aeroplane which falls into the garden of an empty house. These children suspect someone is living there, and start investigating...
Well, the book that we have in my library has illustrations too,so a good read.

Gifting ideas
1 perfect gift for children.Very popular series of our times. It should be easily available on almost every good bookstore.

A thought worth sharing
Books let us into their souls and lay open to us the secrets of our own. ~William Hazlitt

Does India Need communal parties?

I think, it was Tan's post on this blog itself, Republic Day Event, where this question was raised. My answer. YES. we need communal parties even in Independent, Secular India. Now let me take you, back to events before 1947. When India was a colony of the British Empire. The congress party, in its attempt to gain momentum for the independence movement, heavily used Hinduism, an example of which is the famous Ganesh Utsav held in Mumbai every year. Who complains? No one. But at that time, due to various policies of the congress, Muslims started feeling alienated. Jinnah, in these times, got stubborn over the need of Pakistan and he did find a lot of supporters. Congress, up till late 1940's never got bothered by it. And why should we? Who complains? No one. But there were repercussions. The way people were butchered and slaughtered during that brief time when India got partitioned, was even worse than a civil war scenario. All in the name of religion. And there indeed
