Of reviews on blogs

Often, on a whim, I pick some of my old and new blogs randomly and go through them to study how my content here is changing (or not). I receive a lot of feedback from friends and fellow bloggers and as truly as I can, I follow them to the spirit. Not because, they are right or something, but because it gives me a chance to reflect and think about things happening here. Off late, a lot of content posted here is review oriented. Readers are finding it interesting and goes with the spirit of the blog to create a sense of awareness about things around us. I am also flooded with queries as to how this process works or how do I pick what to review or what not to review. So in many cases, I like the place or hear something great about a place and visit, review all done. It is interesting? Very. Its a great experience sharing your views on a new trend or something you can connect to.  Is is it fun? Depends on the human factor. To know more about a place, to ask questions, or ...

Blogger Interview - 10 Rachit Singh

In a very young age, through grit and determination, Rachit is making a mark in the blogging field. I really admire his focus on content marketing and how easily he has adopted best practices for promoting content.  Some words about your blog Well, I own multiple blogs. I will talk about one that I started with, Hacknovations. Where I share tips and tricks about being a smart blogger, and growing a blog into a revenue stream. I started it back in 2015, it grew dramatically but then, due to some problems, I wasn't able to take care of it, so decreased gradually. Now, I am working again on it, hoping that it will grow back soon. Other of my blogs are doing fine though.  What do you think sets your site apart from others? Passion. I have seen a lot of blogs coming and vanishing. I have talked with bloggers and I know that most of the bloggers are pushed into blogosphere to make money not to blog. I am not pulled by money, which is clear from the fact that I d...

Berger XP IndiBlogger Meet - Dwarka, Delhi

It was a fun filled Saturday with the Indiblogger team ganging up with Berger XP to create a fun-filled, knowledgeable event. It is always great that brands like to facilitate a blogger event to send their message across but it is super when a brand takes pains to make it all interesting and interactive. I thought that the venue ( Vivanta by Taj ) would be too far away from my place, but surprisingly I encountered very little traffic and hence was one of the first people to reach the event. They were still getting everything all set up at 11.30 when I reached the venue. The people at the desk gave me a cool looking badge when I registered sharp on time and asked me to get a picture clicked at a photo booth set up. The beginning was indeed ominous as during coffee break, later on, they asked us to give a video byte at the same booth. The marketing personnel from an agency working with Berger shot off some questions and I answered them, with spotlight too harsh on me....

Amazing time at Indiblogger Meet - Delhi

On Sunday, IndiBlogger organized a blogger's meet at The Lalit at New Delhi. It was supposed to be a networking event and a product launch. Need I say this? That IndiBlogger people are great at organizing such meets? It was the first time I saw them using the bar code kind system where we got the passes via email and the code was scanned by the guys at the even. Simple, innovative system to check you in. The even kicked off with lunch. The sumptuous feast was a good time to interact with old blogger buddies whom I had met at previous such meets. These included Pankaj, Gaurav, Tarun and others. Also meet a new blogger Rachit, a young blogger who blogs about content marketing. Post lunch Anoop opened up the session with a fun game. It was to introduce yourself and pick a number from 1 to 10. ( No.3 interestingly never came up, I was thinking if I got a chance, I would say no 3). The program continued with a session with experts on growth and nutrition issues. This was qu...

Entangled Lives - Day 4 - Chapter 6

Continued from Chapter 5 which can be read here ___________________________________ “May I come in Ma’am?” “Yes, come in, you are Roohi, right? Come sit”. The school counselor looked over at the chubby kid with hair tied into neat pony tails. Her uniform was clean and ironed. The way her innocent face looked up, it seemed that her eyes were asking millions of questions. “So your class teacher asked me to talk to you.” Roohi fiddled with her thumbs, lowered her head, expecting a rebuke or punishment for being naughty in class. “Hey, look up child. Whatever we talk about here is going to be a secret. I will not tell anyone anything that you tell me. OK?” The head perked up, “You promise?” “Yes, I promise. Now tell me something about yourself.” “My name is Roohi Dutta. I study in class 4- D. My father’s name is Shekhar Dutta and my mother’s name is Tara Dutta. My father is a writer and mother works for a media company.” “OK. So you are the only child. How is...

Chatting up with a private blogger #8

For several of us, blogging through the years, blogs become a part of not only our lives, but also a reservoir of our memories and thoughts. Not surprisingly, many bloggers choose to keep their blogs on a private mode. Where only few selected people, are invited to peep into the particular person's life and mind. I think, this is one of the most positive features on blogger as I have never seen such privacy settings on blogs hosted by other websites. Anyway, coming to the point, I caught up with a friend of mine, who also happens to be a secretive blogger. She very kindly gave away some minutes out of her busy schedule to answer questions for Blog Orangy.
