Adulescent Dating

9/19/07
One of the most disturbing things happening in our society is adulescent dating...Adulescent...
a word used for adolescents who re growing too fast to adulthood...
even more disturbing is the fact that this phenomenon has now its roots deep not only in big towns and urban centres...Even in small towns...posing a great threat to the ethics of our society and even
its very dangerous for the growth of teenagers...already so much pressure on them these days
...and now this another one...
So what is the scenario we discussing...imagine two 16 year old teenagers...dating around...the first thing to be concerned is..are they mature enough???to make decisions like who should be their date partner...which place is the best..and most importantly the consequences ,,, i find majority of them now averse with the consequences of what they re doing...which in itself is a disturbing fact...
The lack of information and half-knowledge is Even worse condition...these ppl believe whatever there friends tell them...so many misconceptions...i feel like...if this is the state of well educated kids who one day will shape our country's future...how r we going to end the ignorance the illiteracy of the youth belonging to the poor section of our society,,,i find teenagers telling me that since everyone has a gf or a bf...so we should also have one...i mean i was shocked...now ppl feel its trendy or something to be committed...not to forget that the coming generation is so emotional
girls tell me that they were used,,,by their boyfriends...and male Friends of mine tell me that first gals go around with us in our cars and then blame us...and am just loss at words...and just wish to ask them re u ppl mature enough to know what this is all about...Also the issue that does every of your dating relationship has to end with sex...
these ppl forgetting the diff btw likeness and lust
In teenage we all re too much aware about are looks,,,due to attractions and all...but this dating
has turned into a mad obsession...so teenage gals re found in beauty parlours...rather then playgrounds or stuff like that and boys think too much about their hairstyle...and i mean tooo much...even guys re now into all those beauty things like manicure and facials and i dont recall what all...even young guys want facials and beauty creams and brylcream and those little school gals from very young age want their own vanity cases...
After all we re dating sum one...now looks re very very important...
And western culture has Even made matters worse...
Parents re the major cause of this whole dating trend...too busy in their personal lives they many a times tend to ignore what there child is doing...all that concerns them is the studies...
rest no time...with rise in nuclear families with working parents...the new found independence is too welcome for the young kiddos...
So where does this end...
As one of my female friends told me...this thing never ends...u feel hurt..u feel like being used...
But then u move one...some other guy will show interest...eventually,,ditto is the opinion of boys
...after all we need a date at all times...for phone chats...Internet chats and dating,,,driving etc etc,
a symbol of our sexual prowess,,,from middle school u go to high school then to coll and ...... it goes on and on....but i feel that romantic that special feel that a date should have is all loosing up...
as we use it in economics....quantity is replacing quality....
and something we treasured as children and Even teenage is loosing out...
and that something is innocence...
So i think that its time we ppl wake up to this phenomenon until it becomes a deadly epidemic and my advice for the teenagers:
Teenage is a wonderful phase of your life ... enjoy it...don't run too fast to become adults...
and dating is too special a experience...enjoy the moments...its not necessary u have to have one.. u don't have to choose sum one out of a list..liking just happens...take your parents into confidence...if u feel ignorant or confused about certain aspects ... of dating..or your elder brothers or sisters...or any of your trusted guides...instead of regretting later better be careful now

Does India Need communal parties?

I think, it was Tan's post on this blog itself, Republic Day Event, where this question was raised. My answer. YES. we need communal parties even in Independent, Secular India. Now let me take you, back to events before 1947. When India was a colony of the British Empire. The congress party, in its attempt to gain momentum for the independence movement, heavily used Hinduism, an example of which is the famous Ganesh Utsav held in Mumbai every year. Who complains? No one. But at that time, due to various policies of the congress, Muslims started feeling alienated. Jinnah, in these times, got stubborn over the need of Pakistan and he did find a lot of supporters. Congress, up till late 1940's never got bothered by it. And why should we? Who complains? No one. But there were repercussions. The way people were butchered and slaughtered during that brief time when India got partitioned, was even worse than a civil war scenario. All in the name of religion. And there indeed
