On the same day of my blog’s anniversary the new Indian government sworn in. The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is all set to setup the second consecutive government. The elections are over. He is going to take charge for the second consecutive term and I am sure he will do best this time – well, alike billions of Indians, I have the same hope and dream. I wish him all the very best from one and all. May God bless him and may he succeed in whatever he does in the coming 5 years. Incidentally, he swore in on the same day 5 years ago! A peek into reality

As a part of my summer internship I am suppose to do a survey of the slums in Mumbai. The survey is to find out extent of Financial Inclusion in Slums of Mumbai. Financial inclusion is defined as, "The process of ensuring access to financial services and timely and adequate credit where needed by vulnerable groups such as weaker sections and low income groups at an affordable cost." Much has been done for the rural poor – not that the life of the rural poor is significantly better now, but at least at the level of policy making, there are a host of policies framed keeping the rural poor in mind. Since I am doing my summer at the central bank of India (RBI), I do not have much exposure to the implementation of such policies thus I limit my self here at the policy making stage. Facilities like- Business Correspondent (BC) -where bank send officials to provide banking services at the footsteps of the rural poor , such officials are BC's and they provide a host of servic

"My cousin touched me there"

Note: When Tan suggested me to post this here...I gave it a thought. I felt he was right.  yeha I know in the election times ..people would be more inclined to politics. Well still..just give it a read :) For the first time when she came in I knew she is going to be one of my best pals. she was bubbly chirpy sociable and a caring human being.she was I felt my true copy. But what I felt wasn't true and I'd never known that trait of hers which never matched mine had such a reason behind it. She never liked to talk or be familiar to the opposite sex. I found this irritating but I just used to remember all her other traits which brought her close to me and made her one of the closest beings to me on this Earth. As she and I had got very close in friendship that we began sharing secrets which we never thought would come out of our mind. And I thought I understood her as I thought she was me. Then one day as we were alone in my room I asked her why she was so unfamiliar and irritat

Trail of Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab – A joke!

Who do you trial? Who does this? What is this all about? Is this playing with justice or is it just a mockery of the whole thing? Well, there are lots of questions and I find very less of answers to all these. Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab is the only survivor from the pack of Pakistani terrorists who attacked Mumbai on November 26, 2008 (better known as 26/11). He was captured while he was on a rampage killing scores of people and injuring hundreds, on that dreadful night in Mumbai. There was a lot of fuss in the last few months about him being a Pakistani or his age to be prosecuted in an adult court or with his captivity. Recently, the long awaited trial started and everyone is waiting to see what the court will decide on his fate. Ridiculous! What is there to decide? Hang him!! Simple… Well, I do not want to hang him without getting all the information from him and only after proving that the attackers were all from Pakistan and the whole incident was built up by the Pakistani Army, Go

Jaago Grahak Jaago

Declaration: In continuation of my previous post on the Counterfeit Halocast . Yes this is the punch line the govt of India is using to awaken us- the consumers of India. Since we all know the mal-practices manufacturers and sellers have been pursuing in regard of making money without considering the ill effects of those on the consumers. This is more importantly due to the fact that the consumers are unaware of their rights. Nevertheless, it is never too late to be informed. The consumer protection act 1986 is a step that has been brought into force by the govt of india in order to as the name suggests, protect the consumers. It defines CPA as- An Act to provide for better protection of the interests of consumers and for that purpose to make provision for the establishment of consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumers' disputes and for matters connected therewith. The rights of the consumers underlined under this act are: 1. Right to Safety : The right
